Borqs Technologies, Inc., founded in 2007, incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, with a U.S. office in Santa Clara, California and research and development centers in Asia, is an end-to-end wireless product solutions provider for the mobile telecommunications and Internet of Things (IoT) markets. Using its proprietary Android-based, cloud-enabled platform software, it provides design, development and manufacturing services for chipset makers such as Qualcomm and Intel, device makers such as LG Electronics, Acer, Dell and Motorola, and mobile network operators including AT&T, Verizon, China Mobile and Vodafone. Borqs employed over 330 people at the time of the report.
Its products range from smartphones, tablets, rugged devices, wearables and car infotainment systems to smart city solutions. In October 2021 the Company acquired a 51% interest in Holu Hou Energy LLC, a solar energy plus storage company in Hawaii. The report notes that Borqs had traded on Nasdaq since its 2017 SPAC merger, carried out a 1-for-12 reverse split in October 2023, and moved to the OTC markets after its Nasdaq delisting on October 26, 2023, later gaining OTCQB status.
